Pdf Summary
The “Pathways to Executive Leadership” program develops self-awareness and practical people-leadership skills through the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI 2.0), a tool based on Relationship Awareness Theory. It explains how underlying motives shape strengths, which can shift with circumstances. Participants explore motivational styles—including performance-focused Red, people-focused Blue, process-focused Green, flexible Hub, and blended styles—and how these influence behavior.

The program examines conflict responses: accommodating, asserting, and analyzing. Participants consider how these responses may escalate under pressure and how to adapt their approach to influence others constructively. They also identify productive and overused strengths, personal triggers, and ways to improve leadership effectiveness and relationships.

Communication skills are a major focus. Participants practice active listening, distinguish between listening focused on oneself, another person, or broader context, and identify habits that block attention. They learn to give feedback using the SBI model: describe the Situation, observable Behavior, and Impact, beginning with concrete facts. For receiving feedback, they are encouraged to listen, ask questions, seek the useful insight, and take action.

Coaching is presented as a way to support development, decisions, performance, and career goals. Leaders practice curiosity, open-ended questions, nonjudgmental observations, and avoiding the impulse to give advice. The GROW model structures coaching around Goal, Reality, Options, and Will.

Finally, the program covers delegation: deciding what to delegate, choosing an appropriate person, providing clear instructions and support, and matching tasks to urgency and importance using the Eisenhower Matrix. Reflection, peer discussion, demonstrations, and skill clinics help participants apply these concepts to their leadership.
