Course Materials:
Each week, the latest module’s materials – including the pre-recorded presentations, quizzes, copies of the slideshows, and group assignments – will be uploaded to the program library. To access them, you can sign into ACEC.org and click on the My Learning link in your account.
If you have any trouble logging in or need assistance resetting your account password, please email Maureen Brown at mbrown@acec.org.
Online Community:
To help streamline questions and share information, an online community has been set up for your use. You can sign in at https://community.acec.org to access the discussion board or send messages directly to the instructors.
Presentations:
Each week you’ll watch a pre-recorded presentation. The presentations vary in length but are usually between 90 minutes and two hours. It’s up to you to when you view these presentations, but we recommend watching them as soon as possible each week so that you will still have time to complete any small group assignments before the weekly live discussion with the instructors. We’ll also provide recommended stopping points should you prefer to watch the recordings in two sittings.
Small Group Assignments:
Nearly every week, there will be an assignment for you to discuss with your small group. All participants will be assigned to small groups based on their time zone to make it easier for members to coordinate a time to meet. You can check the Small Group document (which will be available by October 1st at the latest) to see who is in your group.
Note, there is an assignment for the first live discussion, but you do not need to meet with your small group to complete it.
Live Discussion:
Every Thursday at 1:30 PM eastern, the instructors will host a live discussion to review the assignment and answer any questions regarding the recorded presentations. The discussion will last about 60 minutes, and it will be hosted on Zoom. Instructions on how to login to each meeting can be found in your course materials in the program library or in the calendar invite that has been sent to you.
Different small groups will be selected each week to help lead the discussion of the assignment (with the exception of Module 1’s live discussion).
We encourage you to attend every live discussion, but in the case of a conflict, they will be recorded and available for you to review at a later time.
PDHs & Evaluation:
At the end of the course, you’ll be able to download your PDH certificate through the program library. An evaluation will also be available so that you can provide feedback on the course structure and content.
